Anchor has more than 40 years' experience of working with older people and providing residential care homes. Residential care homes provide a warm, safe and friendly environment, where people can maintain their independence if they wish, but have access to support when they need it. The aim of Anchor care homes is to maintain quality of life. Privacy and choice are high on the priority list and personal care is tailored to meet individual needs. 85% of homes are rated 'good' or 'excellent' by the Care Quality Commission. In addition, Anchor care homes have won national recognition for their catering. All menus offer residents freshly cooked, nutritious meals. The service offered in Anchor nursing homes is similar to residential care homes. Anchor nursing homes offer specialist care, supporting people with more complex nursing needs and dementia. Care is provided by registered nurses who give personal and practical support, such as help with dressing and bathing. Anchor dual registered homes offer both residential and nursing care.

Disabled Living provides a diverse training programme tailored to suit your exact requirements. Courses can be delivered at Disabled Living or at premises of your choice. These include:
Moving and Handling People: Delivered to Carers working for a Domiciliary Care Agency or in a residential establishment.  This session is delivered at the clients premises and comprises legislation, back care, safe principles of moving & handling, risk assessment and practical moving and handling techniques including the use of equipment and fitting of slings.  This course meets the requirements of Unit 3.2 (Moving and Handling) of the Common Induction Standards.

PromoCon, an integral service of the charity Disabled Living North West, provides impartial information and advice to both health and social care professionals and the general public in relation to children and adults with bowel and/or bladder problems.
We are recognised as the leading national / international source of information regarding continence products, equipment and services.
We also provide high quality study days, tailor made training and an annual Continence Symposium.
Working in partnership with industry, we offer a consultancy service in such areas as continence research and product development.
